This is the second interior we have designed for this couple; the first was the Terra interior, and the second is the Soft Chic interior. It was created for a married couple living in France, so it carries an ambiance that is a modern take on bourgeois French homes. The French classical style is reflected in the profiled mouldings on the walls, as well as the soft white and beige tones, and of course, the characteristic dusty pink shade.
Spatial Organization
The apartment opens into a large space where the living room, dining area, and kitchen are combined. Since the entryway in a home is very important, we decided to "separate it" visually with a transparent shelf (it doesn't make the space seem smaller), giving the feeling of entering a home. From there, the other rooms unfold: the bedroom, bathroom, and a home office.
Shapes, Materials, and Textures
The mouldings and dropped ceilings have predominantly straight lines with rounded corners, giving softness to the space.
The height of the interior also contributes to a sense of elegance and elongation, along with the draperies and hanging chandeliers featured in the living room.
Soft textures, which are hallmarks of the French classical style, are combined with eclectic textures in the details that reflect modernism, creating a luxurious atmosphere in the space. The wall by the dining table is accented and finished with a terracotta technique in a soft pink color. Carefully selected artworks further allude to France and enrich this home.
Lighting
Lighting, always an important factor to which we pay special attention, adds to the quality of a home. In this interior, the combination of dropped ceilings and hanging chandeliers achieves perfect illumination throughout the space.
