Restoring a house from the 60's was a big challenge as we translated the old construction into a new language. The peaceful residential environment and the location of the city hill played a key role in creating this urban villa.
"Moderna" is a house for a young couple, who does not live permanently in the house, only stays occasionally - it's their comfortable shelter from the fast everyday life. The interior reflects just that: comfort and relaxation, a place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or cooking together for a weekend in the large, bright kitchen with an island.
An accent element in the living room is the fireplace, in a modern variant - coated with matte black. The central wall with the TV is covered with cabinets and shelves, in honey color and wood texture. Part of the ceiling is not covered with plaster, to emphasize the beauty of the original mezzanine structure. The combination of materials, the original ceiling and the fireplace make a connection between the traditional and the modern, in a transitional style of interior.
The dining room is connected to the living room, with dining table for 8 people and a small enoteca.
The kitchen is spacious and has an island, with plenty of light from the large windows. Part of the original ceiling reappears here.
The bedroom is smaller, so we made a decision to place the TV on steel bars in front of the closet, so that the TV does not count in opening the closet, and at the same time it is placed in the most favorable position. The ceiling is painted in a dark color to visually expand the space. The bedroom follows the style of the entire interior - a transitional style with wood textures, honey color and dark gray.
